Layer Cozy Textures
Our tactile sense is a big contributor to coziness, so this is the time to bring out your softest, chunkiest throws and pillows. Layers are key here—mix and match different fabrics, like cottons, wools, velvets and linens, and don't limit them to the furniture! A textured rug stacked over a larger, neutral base can be a great addition.
Keep things interesting with some contrasting texture too, like smooth leather pillows to balance out all the softer pieces. And be mindful of your color palette. Warm, rich tones amp up the cozy factor.
Bring In Natural Elements
Natural elements, like fresh pine branches, faux snow-dusted stems, birchwood accents or wood and rattan pieces, help ground your decor for an organic feel. Sprinkle In Some Sparkle... But Keep It Subtle
Warm lighting goes a long way when you're cozying up the home for winter, and a little glimmer adds to the magic. Just remember that less is more—it's easy to overdo the sparkle!
